I take this opportunity to welcome you all to the National Housing and Building Research Agency (NHBRA). NHBRA, a semi-autonomous Government Executive Agency, that was established on 31st August, 2001 under the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development with the aim of improving the standard of housing and therefore, the quality of life for rural and urban communities, through advising and promoting appropriate building materials, techniques and technologies. It is expected to achieve this through conducting research on building materials, techniques and technologies for low cost housing construction as well as to demonstrate the use of local and researched building materials.
